Schlich Haus wins four Excellence in Building Awards

Monarch Building Solutions was proud to accept four major wins and two judges' commendations for our Schlich Haus display home at the 2017 MBA Excellence in Building Awards, held at the National Convention Centre on Friday 30 June.

In association with Turco and Associates and The Dept of Design, Schlich Haus won the Display Homes (more than 225m2) and Custom Built Homes (250–350m2) categories.

The home's stunning en suite won the Bathroom Project (less than $30,000) category, recognisging the luxurious and efficient layout imagined by The Dept of Design and the outstanding execution by Monarch's team of builders and tradespeople.

Part of the project brief for Schlich Haus was to create a low maintenance exterior. This was achieved through the use of stone and face brick, as well as the innovative Equitone Textura cladding to the upper level. It was this cladding and its precise installation which saw Monarch win the Best Use of Material—Residential Exterior category.

One of the many exceptional features of Schlich Haus is the stunning joinery featured throughout the home. Every room boasts a custom solution, which was imagined by The Dept of Design and installed by Ellwood Detail Joinery. This quality was recognised with a Judges' Commendation in the Best Use of Material—Residential Interior category, an award presented at the judges' discretion to projects of high achievement.

As well, the spectacular kitchen, boasting a beautifully bookmatched Carrara marble splashback and island bench, won a Judges' Commendation in the Kitchen Project (more than $100,000) section for Monarch and The Dept of Design.

Overall, these latest awards acknowledge the ongoing excellence Monarch has reached since winning our first award in 2006. A claim backed up by being consistently awarded for excellence since then.
